Throwing was never the hard part.
Lobs improvised bombs built from scavenged valley junk — radius Break instead of the Hedge-Mage’s single target. Bad throws hit allies. The party learns to position around them, or learns nothing at all.
Design Pillars
- Fills the total AoE gap in the current roster
- Risk is structural comedy: a novice with live explosives
- Positioning pressure as a party-wide skill check
First-Pass Kit (draft — numbers unvalidated)
- Signature — Lobbed Charge (action, 2 moments, cooldown): a blast at range: Break 3 to everything in the zone — allies included. On a kept natural 1, it lands at your feet instead. The party learns to position around you, or learns nothing at all.
- Smoke Shell (action, once per encounter): a zone of Hidden for whoever stands in it. The considerate explosive.
- Long Fuse (action, once per encounter): plant a charge on the clock: it detonates when its tempo marker comes up, two moments from now. Your party can read the marker. The enemy cannot. Herd accordingly.
